Team Dynamics and Teamwork
Module Description
In this module, participants are introduced to the dynamics of effective teamwork, where motivation, coordination, and shared purpose are essential ingredients for success.
Participants will learn the skills of cooperation, communication, motivation, and knowledge sharing, recognizing them as critical factors for achieving optimal results in team settings.
Emphasizing the synergy that arises from collective effort, participants will explore how effective teamwork harnesses the energy and creativity of individuals to produce outcomes greater than the sum of its parts.
Through practical exercises and interactive discussions, participants will develop the competencies needed to foster a collaborative and productive team environment, driving innovation and achieving shared goals effectively.
Entry Requirements
Candidates who apply for this course must possess
- a pass in English Language and Mathematics at MQF Level 3 (‘O’ Level or equivalent).
- Students whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate evidence of an adequate level of English proficiency.

How you’ll be assessed
The course comprises:
- Evening classes for part-time courses.
- Classes held throughout the day for full-time courses.
- Guided learning, presentations, comprising synchronous online discussions, tutorials and/or videos.
- Self-study hours comprising research, reading and assignment work.
Assessment
Assessment is carried out via two mandatory components:
- Modular Assessment
- Project Assessment
The programme includes different forms of assessment which allow for and promote students’ critical engagement. The formative and summative assessment tasks may include an in-class assignment and/or a home-based written assignment using diverse assessment tools which may take the form of online and in-class discussions, examinations, case studies, reports, proposals, essays, and presentations, etc., as applicable to the diverse modules.

Reading for the entire Certificate in Management as presented in this brochure costs €1,500.*

Learning Outcomes
Competences:
At the end of the module/unit the learner will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to:
- Identify the main obstacles to effective team working.
- Identify the critical components required for a high performance team.
- Describe methods for identifying group problems and develop appropriate strategies for their resolution [Critical Thinking]
- Identify issues in group dynamics, such as group norms, structures, leadership, authority, membership, cultural sensitivity, and ethics.
- Describe the interpersonal and their own intrapersonal reactions within the context of the group.
Knowledge:
At the end of the module/unit the learner will have been exposed to the following:
- Fundamentals of Groups and Group Classification.
- Group Dynamics.
- Group Norms.
- Group Roles.
- Fostering Team Creativity.
- Team Building.
Skills:
At the end of the module/unit the learner will have acquired the following skills:
- Distinguish between the groups and teams.
- Facilitate team and meeting communication.
- Apply Tuckman’s Stages of Team Development.
- Recognise the stage the team is in context of Tuckman’s stages of Team Development.
- Set the action plan for the team to accomplish goals.
- Define goals for more effective group communications.
Module-Specific Digital Skills and Competences:
The learner will be able to:
- Navigate through the online learning platform to benefit from assignments, discussion boards, literature, tutorials etc.
