Module Description

This is an introductory software engineering discipline module that provides the underlying and fundamental concepts associated with building, supporting and managing software. This unit presents the complete life cycle of a software system from its initial stages to the release and support.

Initially this module presents the rationale for learning software engineering by demonstrating the difference between building a small programming project and the effort required to develop mission-critical software.  Hence, software processes, models and methodologies are covered; followed by the sequence of development activities.
