Advanced Programming
Module Description
Building upon both the Programming and the Data Structures and Algorithms units; this module is intended for the intermediate programmer who is comfortable with Python syntax, can work through a properly set up coding environment and understands the underpinning concepts of object-oriented programming.
Building upon this set of knowledge, thus unit will introduce the learner to GUI programming and to developing code that makes efficient use of modern processors along with the intricacies of multi-threading applications.
As applications get larger and more complex the need for managing the code becomes more pressing and hence the students are introduced to a method of source control. Also testing is equally important, with this unit formalising how applications can be tested effectively using automated and manual tools.
