Ethical and Professional Considerations
Module Description
The module illustrates key ethical principles in care, including autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice. Students will learn how these principles apply to a variety of care settings and how they can be used to guide decision-making when ethical dilemmas arise.
Professional boundaries are another key component of this module. Students will explore the importance of maintaining appropriate boundaries in care relationships, learning how to manage situations where boundaries may become blurred, such as when providing care to friends or family members, or when a client becomes overly dependent on the care provider.
By the end of the module, students will have a solid understanding of the ethical and professional responsibilities that are essential to the practice of care. Students will be equipped to provide care that is compassionate, effective, ethically sound, and professionally responsible.
