Module Description
The award is intended to provide a good awareness of health and safety matters. The award primarily provides the necessary information in order to anticipate and eliminate accidents and related illnesses.
This award aims to support learners in becoming proficient in health and safety. The main components – legislation, occupational health and safety, first aid, and risk assessment – are covered. These will assist learners to perform their duties in a safe manner and to be able to guide their coworkers in safe practices.
In order to maintain the topic’s relevance, the activities and content will be contextualised. Consequently, the learners will be exposed to health and safety aspects in a variety of contexts, such as at work, at home, and in everyday life.

- This award aims to equip learners with a basic knowledge of occupational health and safety.
Assessment
- The mode of assessment varies and may include in-class tasks, and/or home-based written assignments using diverse assessment tools which may include related case studies, verbal assessment, etc. Furthermore, formative assessment may take place during the sessions in the form of discussions, feedback, etc., but it will not be graded and, therefore, will have no weighting. The assessment aims to provide the learner an opportunity to produce evidence of their competences aligned to the learning outcomes of this module. Furthermore, the tasks may include different forms of assessment which allow and promote students’ knowledge in the area.
