Corporate and Business Law
Module Description
The Corporate and Business Law module introduces the students to the Maltese legal system, the general legal framework and other legal business areas.
Topics covered in the module include the law of obligations, emphasizing particularly upon the nature of contracts and the law of tort; the laws surrounding employment and companies; as well as criminal and fraudulent behaviour within the corporate world.
Essentially, the subject is intended so as to gain an understanding of different aspects of the law applicable in the world of accounting. Therefore, this subject would ensure that the student’s knowledge is sufficiently broad to always act within the parameters of the law.

How you’ll be assessed
The method of assessment is assignment-based.
The course comprises:
• 6 lectures per module;
• 3-hour lectures (evening);
• 12 hours of online content per module, comprising synchronous online discussions, tutorials and/or videos.
Assessment is carried out via two mandatory components:
• Modular Assessment;
• Project Assessment
The course also includes additional, specialised support to help you write your Dissertation, including classes on Qualitative/Quantitative data analysis tools, as well as Dissertation Workshops.
