Module Description

This module provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices involved in managing events within the tourism industry. Students will explore various aspects of event planning, coordination, and execution, with a focus on developing the necessary skills to successfully organise and manage events of different scales and types. Through theoretical knowledge and practical applications, students will gain the competence, knowledge, and skills required to excel in event management roles within the tourism sector.

How you’ll be assessed

The course comprises:

  •  Lectures per module depending on the number of ECTS (once or twice a week);
  • 3-hour lectures;
  • Guided learning, presentations, comprising synchronous online discussions, tutorials and/or videos;
  • Self-study hours comprising research, reading and assignment work.

 

 

Assessment

The programme includes different forms of assessment which allow for and promote students’ critical engagement. The formative and summative assessment tasks may include an in-class assignment and/or a home-based written assignment using diverse assessment tools which may take the form of online and in-class discussions, examinations, case studies, reports, proposals, essays, and presentations, etc., as applicable to the diverse modules.
