General Insurance Products: Personal Lines
Module Description
This module introduces the student to the various personal lines general insurance products, including:
· Motor insurance products, principles, and practices of motor insurance. Moreover, the syllabus also looks at the legal requisites surrounding motor insurance as well as the different sorts of risks relating to motor insurance products.
· The operation of household insurance products, including contents.
· The Maltese healthcare insurance market, products, and practices as well as private health insurance in Malta.
· Other miscellaneous personal lines insurance products.
The syllabus addresses the operational clauses and standard conditions applicable to these products as well as the payment of claims, the underwriting and administration of policies, and risk assessment. The module tackles the responsibilities and obligations of the clients when proposing insurance cover. The students also examine the handling of claims and the procedures that need to be followed during this process.

How you’ll be assessed
The course comprises:
– 6 lectures per module;
– 3-hour lectures (evening);
– 12 hours of online content per module, comprising synchronous online discussions, tutorials and/or videos.
Assessment is carried out via two mandatory components:
• Modular Assessment;
• Project Assessment
The course also includes additional, specialised support to help you write your Dissertation, including classes on Qualitative/Quantitative data analysis tools, as well as Dissertation Workshops.
Reading for the entire B.Sc. in Insurance Studies as presented herein costs €9,000.*
