Module Description

The project is a compulsory element of the programme. The aim is to assess students on their capability of applying the learnings obtained from the previous modules, combined with practice. Participating in the project will enable the student to develop deeper knowledge, understanding, capabilities and attitudes in the context of the studies undertaken.

This project requires students to make use of their analytical skills to analyse an identified real-life problem within the travel and tourism field. This problem may be identified through literature or by the tutor assigned. The results of the project may be presented to peers and to the lecturer though an individual or groupwork presentation.

Furthermore, students may opt to pursue further the topic/problem chosen for this project in their dissertation.

The course comprises:

The course comprises:

  •  Lectures per module depending on the number of ECTS (once or twice a week);
  • 3-hour lectures;
  • Guided learning, presentations, comprising synchronous online discussions, tutorials and/or videos;
  • Self-study hours comprising research, reading and assignment work.

 

Assessment

The programme includes different forms of assessment which allow for and promote students’ critical engagement. The formative and summative assessment tasks may include an in-class assignment and/or a home-based written assignment using diverse assessment tools which may take the form of online and in-class discussions, examinations, case studies, reports, proposals, essays, and presentations, etc., as applicable to the diverse modules.
