Retail Management Principles and Distribution Channels
Module Description
The aim of this module is to develop a deep understanding of the organisation or business unit in terms of its function and subsequent role within the channel of distribution in the retail sector. The module will examine the forces which influence and shape the various models of change in retail sector and how organisations react to this change. Furthermore, students will form a contextual foundation upon which subsequent compulsory modules will be built.
Entry Requirements
Candidates who apply for this course must possess one of the following:
a Level 6 degree
OR
a Level 5 diploma or higher diploma and 5 years’ work experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably but not limited to the retail industry.

• professionals seeking a management career within the retail industry;
• those working in management positions within retail or retail-related industries, and who wish to refine and improve their competences and skills.
How you’ll be assessed
The method of assessment is assignment-based.
The module comprises:
• 6 lectures;
• 3-hour lectures;
• 12 hours of online content, comprising synchronous online discussions, tutorials and/or videos.
