Module Description

This module aims to provide students with a diverse and current knowledge of the contemporary issues within the overall hospitality sector. Students will examine the contemporary issues in hospitality with emphasis on Crisis Management and Sustainability in Hospitality. They will also investigate how the hospitality sector is responding to such contemporary issues and will identify opportunities and challenges these issues may present. 

The course content will focus on those issues that are deemed to be the most significant for this sector at the time of teaching. 

Entry Requirements

Candidates who apply for this course must possess the following: 

  • a qualification at MQF Level 4 (one ‘A’ Level or equivalent in any subject); 

AND 

  • a pass in English Language and Mathematics at MQF Level 3 

Preference is given to applicants having a year of work experience in an area related to this study programme.

How you’ll be assessed

The method of assessment is assignment-based.

The module comprises

  • 6 lectures per module; 
  • 3-hour lectures (evening);
  • 12 hours of online content per module, comprising synchronous online discussions, tutorials and/or videos.
