Managing Entrepreneurial Agile Projects
Module Description
This module will furnish entrepreneurs running innovative projects with the essential skills and techniques required to plan and implement successful projects in an agile approach. Today’s projects are running in a competitive environment and fast delivery is of utmost importance.
This module will introduce you to value-driven projects, with particular attention to agility and control in technology-intensive enterprises.
It explores the project-based common activities that entrepreneurs and employees are continuously involved in.
This module also explores new efficient and effective ways on how today’s project-based enterprises can be productive and add business value in the daily carrying out of organised tasks.
Project management theory includes many models that can be used to increase the speed in delivering added business value to projects.
Entry Requirements
Candidates who apply for this course must possess one of the following:
- a Level 6 degree;
OR
- a Level 5 diploma or higher diploma and 5 years’ work experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
Preference is given to applicants having a Level 6 degree in a discipline related to the study programme and a minimum of 3 years’ work experience in management.

The target group focuses primarily on people already employed within supervisory and managerial roles who wish to have a more thorough background in the subject in order to progress further in their careers.
Career Paths
The programme aims to prepare you for senior posts such as that of General Manager, Head of Department or Director of any organisation, both in the private and public sector.
How you’ll be assessed
The course comprises:
- Evening classes for part-time courses.
- Classes held throughout the day for full-time courses.
- Guided learning, presentations, comprising synchronous online discussions, tutorials and/or videos.
- Self-study hours comprising research, reading and assignment work.
Assessment
Assessment is carried out via two mandatory components:
- Modular Assessment
- Dissertation Assessment
The programme includes different forms of assessment which allow for and promote students’ critical engagement. The formative and summative assessment tasks may include an in-class assignment and/or a home-based written assignment using diverse assessment tools which may take the form of online and in-class discussions, examinations, case studies, reports, proposals, essays, and presentations, etc., as applicable to the diverse modules.

Learning Outcomes
Competences:
At the end of the module/unit the learner will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to:
- Critically analyse and assess the necessary characteristics and roles of the project team and leadership in order to boost motivation and productivity.
- Critically debate the importance of proper business planning and application of different tools to monitor projects.
- Critically evaluate project methodologies and approaches in entrepreneurship and how different cultures will fit through innovative entrepreneurship.
- Create a detailed project plan indicating milestone, objectives, resources applicable, persons responsible and time frames using appropriate planning tools.
- Critically analyse potential challenges, obstacles and barriers which could hinder the project process in a fast-evolving environment and recommend solutions to resolve these issues. .
Knowledge:
At the end of the module/unit the learner will have been exposed to the following:
- Introduction to different management paradigms.
- External and internal factors influencing Innovation and Entrepreneurship during projects.
- The basic principles and documents required for success.
- The importance of business planning, evaluation and monitoring tools.
- Project Organisation and Project Teams.
- Project Planning and Control.
Skills:
At the end of the module/unit the learner will have acquired the following skills:
- Critically assess the functions of project management in a fast-evolving environment and propose the methodology which fits with the organisation culture.
- Develop a business plan and solutions taking in consideration the phases required to complete a successful project within limited resources.
- Evaluate internal and external effects on projects and the implication of cultural diversity on entrepreneur.
- Develop and propose the plan to attract talented resources and boost motivation of project team.
- Apply project management control through proper communication channels.
Judgment Skills and Critical Abilities:
The learner will be able to:
- Critically analyse a specific standard set of processes to adapt for own project methodology.
- Critically interpret an action plan based on the project network diagram.
Module-Specific Digital Skills and Competences:
The learner will be able to:
- Navigate through the online learning platform to find assignments, discussion boards, literature, tutorials etc.
